My Guest Design Team Project week of 4/2

For being selected as one of the guest designers for April for Scrap The Moment, I received a kit from Rather B' Scrappin' called Green With Envy. This kit is too cool. There are several different patterned papers, vellum and some very cool embellishments. Well, check out the kit for yourself. http://www.ratherbscrappin.com/pastkits/GreenwithEnvy.html

This is my 1st project. I used sandpaper to distress the paper, giving it that worn look. I really like how it came out! Not too shabby for my 1st altered frame. =)

Hot Damn!!!

I received some of the most excellant news that I have had for some time today. I was one of three ladies chosen to be a guest designer in April for Scrap The Moment!! WOOO HOOO!! I just about fell out of my chair and into the floor. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would have been chosen. What this means is I will get to play with goodies from the sponser for that month. I haven't heard who it is yet, but hopefully soon!

Jennifer and Mari are co-guest designers with me. Those two ladies produce some FANTASTIC layouts. I'm no where near in the same league with them! But I'm going to give it my all! Come hell, high water or me falling on my face, I'm going to have fun! =)

Green

I snapped these photos of the Big Coal River this week for a photo scavenger hunt. I needed something green. I love the color of the river, a beautiful shade of jade. Not sure I want to know what makes it that color! LOL

That silly cat!

When I woke up Sunday morning and walked into the living room, what did I see? That crazy Stimpy alseep on his back with his butt in the box. At first I thought he was stuck, but he moved when I touched him. I had to get a picture of it! hehe

Painting again!

Yep, I've caught the bug! I experimented using drywall tape (looks like Magic Mesh) over the pink patterned paper from yesterday. It tore a little as I took the tape off. Next time, I'll be more gentle! hehe

For this one, I used blue cardstock (it's heavier than the paper) and also put tiny bloches of pink color while the paint was wet. Think it came out pretty darn well!

I also put one coat of paint on a piece of red cardstock. Came out pretty cool. Think I may take a piece of sandpaper and sand it a bit to make it more grungy looking.

I'm painting!

One of the recent challenges at STM was to create your own colored paper using some old patterned papers that you owned but haven't, nor would ever, use. I picked a bright neon pink paper, cut it into a 6"x6" square to try this technique out. I didn't have the primer that was used in the instructions, so I used several coats of the white. I also experimented with the Pearl Ex powdered pigments that Pammy had given me several years ago. (I never knew what to do with them! LOL) I mixed in some of the Super Russet (a metalicly reddish color) with the white paint. It turned into a dusty pink color. I painted over the white with this new color. It looks very grunge and I am liking the look of it!

I am so going to try this experiment again with more colors!!

HAPPY HUG DAY!!

Very cool.....I figured out how to add some stuff here. I started with making a slideshow of some of my recent layouts that I have created. And it actually worked! Yay! =)

Greetings and Salutations! This is my first attempt at a blog. I'm laughing at myself right now because I have no clue what I'm doing. =)
